Ordinary
This applies to former students of Serangoon English School (SES) and Serangoon Secondary School (SSS) who join the Alumni and pay a membership fee on an annual basis. The fee is $5.00 per year. However, for administrative convenience, the fee upon entry is $10.00 for two years. Thereafter, they either pay on a yearly ($5.00) or two-yearly ($10.00) basis. If they choose it, they may even pay for 4 years in advance or $20.00.
Those upon having been members for a certain period of time may convert to Ordinary Life Membership by paying $100.00 for a one-time payment.
Ordinary Members may vote, nominate members or be elected at the Annual General Meeting.
Ordinary Life
Under this category of membership, all students of the former SES or SSS can apply to join subject to approval by the Management Committee. They pay a one-time fee of $100.00.
All these members may vote, nominate members or be elected at the Annual General Meeting.
Associate
Any former teaching staff of the SES or SSS may become an Associate Member subject to the Management Committee?s approval. A fee of $5.00 per year is payable.
Associate Members are not entitled to vote, nominate members or be elected at an Annual General Meeting.
Honorary
The current Principal and members of his teaching staff of the SSS may be invited to become Honorary Members. Members of the teaching staff may become such members with the approval of the Principal.
Honorary Members are required to pay any fee for subscription or any levy, but they are not allowed to vote, nominate members or hold office or have any say in the management of the Alumni.
Honorary Life
The Management Committee may invite any person who, in its opinion, has rendered valuable service to the Alumni of the SES or SSS to be an Honorary Life member. They do not pay any fee, subscription or levy.
Honorary Life Members are not allowed to vote, nominate members or hold office or have any say in the management of the Alumni.
Junior
A new category of membership has been created for those students who have graduated. The first group of students who are eligible to join the Alumni are those from the graduating class of 2010.
All Junior Members are not required to pay any subscription. But he extent of their free membership
will be decided at a later date.
